The National Human Rights Commission has issued a notice to Manipur state authorities seeking a report on conditions in relief camps, following complaints about overcrowding, inadequate sanitation, and delayed medical care submitted by advocacy groups. The commission has asked for a response within four weeks.

The notice does not allege specific violations but requests a detailed status report on camp infrastructure, healthcare access, and disbursement of promised relief funds. Advocacy groups that filed the original complaints said monsoon flooding in some camps had made an already difficult situation worse.

State officials said they would respond to the commission’s request and pointed to recent relief shipments as evidence of ongoing efforts to improve camp conditions.
