Manipur Police said security forces recovered a cache of firearms and a Chinese-made hand grenade from the Akham-Lamdeng stretch under Lamsang police station in Imphal West district on Friday, the latest in a string of weapons recoveries across the state as authorities press on with efforts to pull illegal arms out of circulation more than three years into the Meitei-Kuki conflict.

In a post on X, the force said the haul included two modified .303 rifles, four bolt-action single-barrel guns, four 9mm pistols, one Chinese hand grenade, and 15 barrel cartridges, tagging the recovery under its ongoing #DisarmForPeace campaign. The post did not name anyone detained in connection with the cache, and Manipur Police did not specify how the arms were located or whether the recovery followed a targeted operation against a particular group.
